Technology Requirements

To be successful in their courses, students will need reliable access to a computer and the internet. Many course activities, including assignments, exams, digital coursework, and online learning tools, require the use of a computer that meets the specifications listed below. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their device meets these requirements. All required technology is expected to be in place before classes begin.

Hardware

  • PC or Mac
  • Processor: Dual-core 2.0 GHz or higher
  • Graphics: Intel UHD 600 or higher
  • Hard Drive: 100 GB or more
  • Free Disk Space: 250 MB available at all times for updates
  • RAM: 6 GB or more available at all times
  • Display: Minimum resolution 1280 x 720
  • Audio: Speakers or headphones
  • Microphone
  • Webcam

Software

  • Operating System: Windows 10 or higher, or macOS 10.15 or later
  • Adobe Acrobat Reade

Internet Speeds

  • High-speed internet: Cable, DSL, or equivalent
  • Upload Speed: 2 Mbps or higher
  • Download Speed: 30 Mbps or higher

Browser Settings

  • Google Chrome (latest version)
  • JavaScript enabled
  • Pop-ups and Cookies allowed for approved educational sites, including Canvas and publisher platforms

Additional Notes

  • Mobile devices may support some content but not all. A computer is required.
  • Tablets (including iPads) are not considered computers and will not support all required functions.
  • Chromebooks are not supported.
